Upstairs update

Furniture

So we are starting to gather our furniture resources. I bought this one cabinet from Ikea’s clearance section last week. We are going to try to keep our furniture minimal.

Carpet is down!

Burning the midnight oil…

Lately, we have really been pushing to get everything done.  We want to complete the interior of the house by October 20 (before Austin and Nia’s wedding).  So I have not posted as much as I should, but things are really coming together.  I can say that the kitchen and dining rooms are done down to the last detail and that several rooms are getting close.  We have left lots of tiny things to finish in most of the rooms like electrical plate covers and such.

Carpet should be in by the middle of next week, which will complete two more rooms!  So that is exciting news.

Exciting update in the Florida room: the concrete floor has no cracks and therefore a lot of potential. We are just not sure what we are going to do with it yet.

Progress in master bath

Sheetrock is almost complete. Tile is underway.

Insulation

We added the insulation to the bathroom ceiling. Now we have to finish the Sheetrock.

Electrical work in master bath

Buff and Mitchell finished all the electrical for the upstairs bathroom in one day. We are moving a little faster on this room. Now we are on to the Sheetrock.

On to the upstairs bathroom

We have really taken off with the upstairs bathroom. We have finished replacing the floor under the shower, installing the drain, and framing it out. Captain is working on lining it with hardiebacker board to prepare for the tile. Mitchell is replacing the floor around the toilet.

Staining more wood

On Saturday, we worked on matching the unstained boards where the built-in beds used to be to the rest of the room. It is not perfect but it will work nicely for our study.
